Analysts' Estimates For Tomorrow's EIA Weekly Storage Report

DJ Analysts See 170-Bcf Draw From U.S. Natural-Gas Inventories

   By Nicole Friedman

Analysts and traders expect government data scheduled for release Thursday to show natural-gas inventories fell by
more than typical levels for this time of year.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is expected to report that 170 billion cubic feet of gas were withdrawn
from storage during the week ended Feb. 6, according to the average forecast of 16 analysts and traders surveyed by The
Wall Street Journal.

The EIA is scheduled to release its storage data for the week on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. EST.

For the Feb. 6 week, the median estimate is for a draw of 173 bcf. Estimates range from an decrease of 149 bcf to a
draw of 185 bcf.

The estimate for Feb. 6 is smaller than last year's 234-bcf draw from storage for the same week, and also smaller
than the 178-bcf five-year average draw for that week.

If the storage estimate is correct, inventories as of Feb. 6 will total 2.258 trillion cubic feet, 31% above the
year-ago level and 0.9% below the five-year average for the same week.
