Analysts' Estimates For Tomorrow's EIA Weekly Storage Report

DJ Analysts See 75 Billion Cubic-Feet Add to U.S. Natural-Gas Inventories

  By Timothy Puko

Analysts and traders expect government data scheduled for release Thursday to show natural-gas inventories made
additions about on par with what is common at this time of year.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is expected to report that storage levels grew by 75 billion cubic feet of
gas during the week ended May 1, according to the average forecast of 19 analysts and traders surveyed by The Wall
Street Journal.

The EIA is scheduled to release its storage data for the week on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. EDT.

For the May 1 week, the median estimate is for an addition of 73 bcf. Estimates range from an addition of 68 bcf to
an addition of 89 bcf.

The estimate for May 1 compares to 75 bcf added to storage for the same week last year and the 68 bcf five-year
average addition for that week.

If the storage estimate is correct, inventories as of May 1 totaled 1.8 trillion cubic feet, 71% above levels from a
year ago and 3.7% below the five-year average for the same week.
