Dow Jones - Analysts' Estimates For Tomorrow's Natural Gas Storage Report

DJ Analysts See 73-Billion-Cubic-Feet Addition to U.S. Natural-Gas Inventories

By Timothy Puko

Analysts and traders expect government data scheduled for release Thursday to show natural-gas inventories rose by
30% more than average for this time of year.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is expected to report that storage levels rose by 73 billion cubic feet of
gas during the week ended Aug. 29, according to the average forecast of 19 analysts and brokers surveyed by The Wall
Street Journal.

The EIA is scheduled to release its storage data on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. EDT.

For the Aug. 29 week, the median estimate is for an addition of 73 bcf. Estimates range from an increase of 68 bcf to
an increase of 77 bcf.

The estimate for Aug. 29 is more than the 60 bcf added to storage for the same week last year and the 56-bcf
five-year average injection for that week.

If the storage estimate is correct, inventories as of Aug. 29 totaled 2.7 trillion cubic feet, 15% below levels from
a year ago and 16% below the five-year average for the same week.
