DJ Natural Gas Extends Decline
By Nicole Friedman
NEW YORK--Natural gas prices fell for a third straight session Tuesday on continued concerns that above-average
temperatures will reduce demand for the heating fuel.
Natural-gas inventories are near record highs at a time of year when demand for the fuel is usually robust. Weather
forecasts released Tuesday continued to call for warmer-than-normal temperatures in the next two weeks, according to
MDA Weather Services.
Futures for January delivery recently fell 2 cents, or 1%, to $2.047 a million British thermal units on the New York
Mercantile Exchange.
Physical gas for next-day delivery at the Henry Hub in Louisiana last traded at $1.97/mmBtu, compared with Monday's
range of $2.0225-$2.05. Cash prices at the Transco Z6 hub in New York last traded at $2.04/mmBtu, compared with
Monday's range of $1.9425-$2.00.
