The hedge funds have had a very rough time attempting to trade the natural gas market over the past two years.
The funds were record long in February 2014, the exact week the market topped for the year.
They have added to their existing long positions several times over the past 8 weeks but then have to turn around and liquidate as the market falls back toward a 3 year low.
Friday's Commitment of Trader's report showed the fund long position increasing by 34% as of last Tuesday's close with the current position estimated at 118,636 contracts, up 29,962 from the previous week.
The fund are likely again in liquidation mode as the market is sharply lower in today's early trade.
