Analysts' Estimates For Tomorrow's EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report

DJ Analysts See 87 Billion-Cubic Feet Add to U.S. Natural-Gas Inventories

  By Timothy Puko

Analysts expect government data scheduled for release Thursday to show natural-gas inventories last week rose by 16%
more than their five-year average for that time of the year.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is expected to report that storage levels grew by 87 billion cubic feet of
gas during the week ended July 3, according to the average forecast of 16 analysts surveyed by The Wall Street Journal.

The EIA is scheduled to release its storage data for the week on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. EDT.

For the July 3 week, the median estimate is for an addition of 85.5 bcf. Estimates range from an addition of 79 bcf
to an addition of 99 bcf.

The estimate for July 3 compares to 94 bcf added to storage for the same week last year and the 75-bcf five-year
average addition for that week.

If the storage estimate is correct, inventories as of July 3 totaled 2.7 trillion cubic feet, 33% above levels from a
year ago and 1.5% above the five-year average for the same week.
