Natural Gas Corner - Seasonal Price Trend Review - Has The 2016 Summer Price High Already Been Posted?

There is a decent chance the 2.195 spot price high set the last week of April could be "the" high for the summer seasonal rally.

Looking at the seasonal price trend chart for the natural gas market over the past 3 and 5 years, now is the time when a summer high is typically set.

Once a summer high does form, a post-summer seasonal sell off is expected.  It is during this second annual price break that the low price point for the year typically forms.

However, given that the market set a new 18-year low earlier this year, the secondary seasonal low for 2016 might form above the previous low.

Whatever the outcome, a multi-year low should be posted in the natural gas market during 2016.
