Natural Gas Gives Back Gains As Inventories Disappoint - Market Talk

DJ Natural Gas Gives Back Gains as Inventories Disappoint -- Market Talk
14:49 EDT - Natural gas futures had been in something of a rally since the start of August as the dog days of summer
set in and demand looked set to soar as people flip on the air conditioning. But the demand has yet to weigh on
domestic inventories, which the EIA today says increased by 65 bcf instead of the 55 bcf expected by analysts. Prices
took a sharp drop after the data release and continued to drift lower over the course of the session, ending down 4.9%
at $2.787 a million Btus. Still, weather forecasters say temperatures appear set to continue warming up in the coming
days and weeks, particularly in the key demand area of the northeastern US. (christian.berthelsen@wsj.com)
